Diabetic Foot Ulcer: Significant Improvement After 22 HBOT Sessions

Diabetic foot ulcer before HBOT on the left and after 22 sessions on the right
Left: before HBOT. Right: after 22 HBOT sessions.

A 75-year-old patient presented with a diabetic foot ulcer on her left sole. During a consecutive course of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), she experienced significant visible improvement.

The before-and-after comparison shows the wound prior to treatment on the left and the improvement observed after 22 HBOT sessions on the right.

Treatment completed

The patient completed her prescribed course of treatment and was discharged. This case illustrates the progress that may be seen when HBOT is incorporated into the management of appropriate patients with difficult-to-heal wounds.
